Serving Culture
What does it truly mean to be part of something bigger than ourselves? This message digs into the heart of a serving culture and what it looks like when an entire community of believers commits to putting others first. Drawing from Acts chapters 2 and 6, we see the early church not just as a gathering of worshippers, but as a living, breathing organism where everyone had a role to play. Acts 2 paints a picture of believers who sold their possessions to meet the needs of anyone around them, and Acts 6 shows us a community wise enough to recognize that ministry multiplies when it is shared. The spiritual insight here is profound: serving is not a burden assigned to the few, it is a calling extended to all. When we serve, we grow in ways that prayer and Bible study alone cannot produce. There are spiritual muscles that only get exercised when we step outside of ourselves and into the needs of others. The message challenges us to ask honestly whether we are living as passengers on a cruise ship, expecting comfort and entertainment, or as crew members on a battleship, each stationed with purpose and trained for a mission that matters eternally.
